Ajazz Amplifier

Great DAC. I had the Sound Blaster AE-5 sound card which was not bad at all but made my DT-1990 a bit too harsh. This DAC took that edge off. I was a bit worried after reading some review saying they had driver issues, but just make sure you DOWNLOAD the driver from the fostex website before you plug the DAC up to your computer/laptop.

I bought this unit mainly for the amplifier section of it. Turns out, there is no amplification at all. It actually attenuates (reduces) the incoming signal instead of amplifying it. The DAC portion of it works well enough (I tried all the functions) but I needed amplification to boost the signal to my hard-of-hearing Father's wireless headphones. I would not have bought this if "amplifier" wasn't in the product description. Again, the DAC is fine, but it actually attenuates , it does not amplify. The seller needs to edit the product description...

Received this recently and absolutely love it. Wanted to upgrade from an old Fiio E09K Fiio E17 combo (been using this combo for around 10 years and still works great.) Use the balanced out with a pair of modified Purple Heart TH-X00 and Monolith 1060 and the sound is amazing. I can only really compare to the Fiio and the sound difference is nice. The vocal area seems to be opened up and i'm not sure how to explain it but the bass is a lot cleaner sounding. Like it still has a hard hit but it sounds different.
