One of my alternative health care providers recommended using different balls with varying textures and hardness. So I am using a black paddleball which is a little softer and now the Lacrosse balls which are a little harder but similar texture (smooth). The blue and orange balls seem identical to me except for color. I would give it 5 stars but the surface is a little sticky and it picks up crumbs from my kitchen floor. Maybe that will wear off over time. Or maybe we should clean our kitchen floor more often.

Another great book is Becoming a Supple Leopard by Kelly Starrett. He uses lacrosse balls for bodywork in many different muscle groups and his book, found on Amazon, is a wonderful primer for body work, functional movement and movement flow. I use these balls for cool down after a workout.Balls are hard, not soft! Bigger than golf ball, smaller than baseball.I am very, very happy with this purchase.

I am a long distance runner and have recently been experiencing IT band pain, very common running injury. I added in strength training but also needed a massage tool to target specific areas that my foam roller was too large for. These balls a perfect! I can roll my hip muscle (where it is tight causing strain on my IT band making my knee hurt), and also target my gluteal muscles much easier! A great price for the assortment you get as well! I have bought many massage tools over the years and these are high quality and the perfect price! Would definitely recommend!
