Genpim apron

Ok, first off: I am NOT an apron guy. I have resisted this notion for some time, even though my wife has several times pointed out the advantages of having one when I am grilling and smoking meat. I finally gave in, and ordered this apron based on her recommendation. At least it's a manly denim apron, and except for not being thick leather, the design is reminiscent of the welding coat (I refused to call it an apron!) I used to wear when I was working with hot metal. So, much to my surprise, when I wore this the first time smoking ribs and chicken this weekend, I LOVE IT! It is comfortable, adjustable to my "full figured man" physique (with plenty of room to grow), the pockets are really handy for timers, my instant read thermometer, cell phones, and other things I keep with me when I'm grilling. And when I get charcoal dust on me, I can just brush it off. I actually wish I had bought one of these years ago. If I ever do wear it out, I will definitely order another one.

The greatness of this apron lies in its adjustability and that it drapes over your shoulders instead of hanging off your neck. If you simply can not stand the feel of an apron chafing at the back of your neck or uncomfortably clinging to your body, this style of apron is for you. I would have preferred a slightly lighter material, but this is somewhat mitigated by the less constrictive fit it has. The pockets are also pretty nice. The buckles and leather patch the two straps cross through across your back need to be removed for laundry, but the buckles also eliminate the hassle of fiddling with tying apron strings behind your own back. They can also be adjusted while you are wearing the apron so that it has a bit looser feel, which I really appreciate.

I thought it was a bit expensive when I bought it, but I still can’t help but like it. It feels good-looking and cute. The most important thing is that it plays its role.
