After replacing it with a 100 Ohm resistor, the light tolerance is much higher and it doesn't feel like being illuminated by a road flares. Seriously, you can buy one of them and use it in case of a roadside emergency.

The light is warm and easy on the eyes, perfect for nighttime. I tried several other book lights before sticking with this one. Most of them have light that's far too blue or white, and are harsh to look at if you're reading in bed.

Ok just got this thing, and it is seriously cool. It’s very lightweight and easy to clip on a book. It’s got several brightness settings, which is great because I like to read in bed and now I won’t disturb my husband. It’s super easy to charge, so I don’t have to mess with buying batteries and don’t we all have a usb charger (or ten) laying around? The amber light is great, too, won’t keep me from getting sleepy. I’ll update my review if my initial viewpoint changes, but for now, one of the neatest things I’ve bought in a long time.
